Community Business
Partnership
Created in 1995, Community Business Partnership was formed
in response to an identified need for small business technical
assistance and financing services, particularly to low-moderate
income and disadvantaged individuals, including minorities,
women and the disabled, specifically in Northern Virginia.
While providing high quality training and counseling to all
small businesses, the Partnership seeks to provide a financing
alternative to benefit those unable to attract a commercial
loan or other traditional source of funds. Over the past decade
Community Business Partnership has grown to five distinct
programs.

Count Me In
Count Me In champions the cause for women's economic independence
by providing access to business loans, consultation and education.
The first online microlender, Count Me In uses a unique women-friendly
credit scoring system to make loans of $500 to $10,000 available
to women across the United States who have nowhere to turn
for that all-important first business loan. The organization
provides access to networks that expand contacts, markets,
skills and confidence.

The Chamber represents the voice of over 100,000 companies
in Manhattan and partners with over 300 diverse business organizations.

The Center's programs and seminars include comprehensive training

New York City Department of Small Business Services
Business Development helps grow businesses by connecting business
owners and entrepreneurs to public and private-sector business
assistance resources and providing information on a range
of topics including procurement, marketing, tax identification

This unit also provides free one-on-one counseling to New
York City small businesses and entrepreneurs at its Manhattan

SBA Business Matchmaking
Business Matchmaking is a
partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration
and HP, matching small companies with federal, state, and
local government agencies and large corporations that have
actual contract opportunities for products and services offered
by smaller companies. The program's goal is to stimulate jobs
and growth for small business by taking advantage of opportunities
that are normally relegated to distinct geographical areas
such as the Washington DC Beltway or the city where a major
corporation is located.

Women's Business Centers (WBCs) represent a national network
of more than 80 educational centers designed to assist women
start and grow small businesses. WBCs operate with the mission
to level the playing field for women entrepreneurs, who still

Women's Enterprise Development Center
The Women's Enterprise Development Center Inc. (WEDC), a not-for-profit
microenterprise development program, was formed in 1997 to
help women achieve economic self-sufficiency through small
business development. It was launched as a collaborative effort
of: The Westchester County Association, Westchester Community
College, Westchester Association of Women Business Owners,
and the New York State Division for Women (Lower Hudson Valley
Advisory Council). These organizations continue to support,
advise and collaborate with WEDC.
