Susan Bari, WBENC
2004 Outstanding Women's Advocate
Susan Phillips Bari is President of the Women's Business
Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the leading advocate
for the advancement of women owned businesses as vendors and
suppliers to the nation's corporations. As a founding architect
of WBENC in 1997, Bari as President has grown the organization
to become the nation's leading third-party certifier of businesses
owned and operated by women. As head of WBENC, Bari is committed
to creating successful relationships between women owned businesses
and America's corporations.
She is a member of the Women's Leadership Board of the John
F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and serves
on advisory councils for Shan Industries, a women-owned firm,
the Diversity Council of Merrill Lynch; the Women's Advisory
Council of Wells Fargo Bank and the Board of Directors of
the Women Presidents' Organization.
Her 2nd book, "Partnering for Profit: Success Strategies
for Tomorrow's Supply Chain" was published in June, 2005.
Breaking Through: Creating Opportunities for America's Women
and Minority-Owned Businesses" was published in June,
2004 both by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.
