Donna L. Westerman, Avon
2005 Outstanding Women's Advocate
Donna L. Westerman, is the Director of Avon Products,
Inc. Supplier Diversity and Social Accountability Program.
Ms. Westerman is responsible for developing the vision and
strategy for all North American business locations as they
relate to the utilization of minority and women-owned business
enterprises. Additionally, Donna oversees the Social Accountability
Program, dedicated to improving workplaces and communities
by developing, implementing and overseeing socially responsible
standards at Avon's third party manufacturing facilities.
Prior to her position at Avon, Donna held various management
and staff positions in Procurement, Materials and Project
Management, and resigned from her 19+ year tenure as the Associate
Director, Supplier Diversity for the Bristol-Myers Squibb
Pharmaceutical Company.
Ms. Westerman's commitment to diversity is evident in her
active involvement with several advocacy and non-profit organizations
that focus on a variety of multi-cultural related issues.
Donna serves on the Board of Directors of the National Minority
Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Women President's Educational
Organization (WPEO) and the Advisory Board for the Women's
Business Development Center (WBDC) in Philadelphia. Donna
was the Co-founder and Co-Chair of the Supplier Diversity
Pharmaceutical Forum (Division of the Institute of Supply
Management), the only advocacy group in the US focused on
diverse inclusion and procurement issues related to the pharmaceutical
industry. Donna is the former Chairman of the Development
Committee for WBENC and Certification Committee for the Women's
Business Development Center (WBDC) of Philadelphia
Donna earned a B.S. Degree in Marketing and Business Administration
and a MBA in Industrial Relations, both from Seton Hall University
in New Jersey.
