PSEG's Best Practice
PSEG’s internal supplier diversity Commodity Category Review Initiative assisted in identifying MWBE business opportunities in 2009, which resulted in historic company expenditures with MWBEs. Working internally to support PSEG Supply Chain associates, who makes buying decisions, is a critical part of the overall supplier diversity effort. Driving the supplier diversity process with respect for the experts who are the procurement associates opens up communication so that supplier diversity is seen as a valued resource. In addition, MWBE firms were encouraged to register their businesses on PSEG’s On Line Registration System. PSEG utilizes this supplier management system to identify potential suppliers for bid and contract opportunities and share supplier information across lines of business internally.
