Melani Wilson Smith is a Senior Director at Merck & Co. Inc.; where she leads Global information Technology Procurement. She is accountable for strategy and business requirements development, vendor identification, competitive bidding, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management for a $ 1.1B portfolio of spend. Melani is active with Merck's supplier diversity program, participating in strategy development, sponsorship of diverse suppliers and support of outreach and development activities.
In addition, she serves as a Director on the Board of the Women Presidents Educational Organization. Her experience set includes extensive domestic and international assignments, as both a corporate representative and as a supply chain consultant. Before coming to Merck, Melani worked for Procter & Gamble, QP Group, LLC, a leading supply chain consulting firm, and Pfizer, Inc., practicing in the United States; London, England; and Geneva, Switzerland. Melani is active in her community on several fronts, including helping local businesses focus on promotion, customer development and marketing; staging various cultural events; and as an officer and active memeber in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
