Since 1996, Avis Yates Rivers has been leading the growth and development of Technology Concepts Group, an IT managed services and equipment leasing firm. An entrepreneur since 1985, Ms. Yates Rivers founded TCGI to respond to the asset management and recovery needs of Corporate America. Today, TCGI is the technology partner to schools, government, small/medium business and Fortune 100 corporations.
A successful 11-year career with Exxon Corporation in New York City preceded the entrepreneurial track Ms. Yates Rivers has been on for 25 years. She is a highly sought after consultant and nationally recognized technology expert. Enterprising Women Magazine named her one of the Top Ten Women in Technology for her passion and work towards bridging the Digital Divide. She has also been recognized with the Women of Influence Award, Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and as as one of the 100 Most Influential People in New Jersey.
With a strong passion to advocate on behalf of minority and women-owned businesses, Ms. Yates Rivers has served in numerous positions such as Vice Chair of the National Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee (NMSDC), Vice Chair of the Women Presidents' Educational Organization, Past President of the Supplier Diversity Development Council, and Past Chairperson of the NJ United Minority Business Braintrust. She is the Director of the National Center for Women and Information Technology, a Director of the Newark Regional Business Partnership, and Chair of the NJ Small Business Development Center Network.
